The Los Angeles market
One city on paper, half a dozen economies in practice.
Entertainment and production cluster in Burbank, Culver City and Hollywood, where the anchor names are Netflix, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, Sony Pictures and Universal — and the thousands of vendors selling into them all chase the same keywords. Hospitality runs the coast from Santa Monica to Long Beach. Downtown and the Fashion District carry apparel, wholesale and ecommerce. El Segundo and the South Bay hold aerospace and defense work around SpaceX, Northrop Grumman and Boeing. San Pedro and Long Beach run the largest port complex in the western hemisphere, with the freight, customs and warehousing businesses that follow it. Healthcare spreads across the basin, anchored by Cedars-Sinai, UCLA Health and Kaiser Permanente, and the Valley is its own market for trades, clinics and retail.
That is the opening. Most agencies publish one Los Angeles page written for nobody in particular, so it competes with every other generic page for the same handful of terms and ranks for none of them. A hotel in Santa Monica and a defense supplier in El Segundo share a postcode prefix and nothing else — not the buyer, not the search, not the sales cycle.
